Days after issuing a stern warning to police chiefs across commissioners and districts to improve their performance or face consequences, the Bhagwant Mann-led AAP Government has undertaken a major reshuffle in Punjab Police.
In a significant move, 21 IPS officers, including seven Senior Superintendents of Police, have been transferred with immediate effect. The orders were issued by the Secretary, Department of Home Affairs.

Key appointments in the reshuffle:
- Mr. Sudhanshu Srivastava (1994-batch IPS officer) appointed ADGP Security, Punjab, Chandigarh, with an additional charge of ADGP Provisioning, Punjab, Chandigarh.
- Ms. Dhanpreet Kaur (2006-batch IPS officer) appointed as Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar.
- Ms. Jagdale Nilambari Vijay (2008-batch IPS officer) appointed as DIG, Ludhiana Range.
- Mr. Swapan Sharma (2009-batch IPS officer) appointed as DIG, Ferozepur.
This reshuffle underscores the Punjab Government’s focus on enhancing law enforcement efficiency and accountability.
