In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma led Assam Government has issued an order of transfer and posting of 9 Indian Police Service Officers on Monday. As per the notification Violet Baruah has been given the charge of Inspector General Of Police (Border) Assam, Guwahati. Previously he was serving as Deputy Inspector General of Police (BTAD), Kokrajhar, Assam.
IPS Officer Lachit Barua who was serving as the Deputy Inspector General of Police , Special Branch Assam, Khailipara Guwahati has been transferred to Assam state bureau of Police. Debraj Upadhyay has been given the charge of Inspector General of Police (CID), Ullubari, Guwahati. Mridulananda Sharma has been given the charge of Inspector General Of Police, Security Assam.
Dilip Kumar Dey has been appointed as Inspector General of Police in Bongaigaon (Logistics) with additional charge of DSP (WR). Prasanta Kumar Bhuyan has been given the charge of Inspector General of Police (SIP) with his previous charge of Inspector General of Police (NR) Tezpur and Nitul Gogoi has been promoted to the capacity of Inspector General of Police (Admn.) Assam, Ulubari, Guwahati.
