On March 2nd, the government of Assam, via a circular, mandated the promotion of IPS officer, Mr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta (2006 batch), the incumbent Deputy Inspector General of Police (Administration), Ulubari, Guwahati, to the rank of Inspector General of Police (STF & CWR), Guwahati. Mr. Mahanta had been serving as the DIGP (Administration) along with the DIGP (Special Task Force) and DIG (CWR).
