Gujarat: 35 IPS Officers Promoted, Narashima Komar Made CP, Vadodara

The government of Gujarat has transferred and promoted as many as 35 IPS officers across the state, merely weeks ahead of the elections. Following the transfer orders, cities like Vadodara and Surat received new Commissioners of Police (CPs). 

Mr. Anupam Singh Gehlot (1997 batch), the incumbent police commissioner of Vadodara, was asked to assume charge as the new police commissioner of Surat. Officer Gehlot was substituted by Mr. Narashima Komar (1996 batch), the incumbent additional director general of police (ADGP)(administration) in Gandhinagar.

Other eminent IPS officers like Mr. Manoj Agarwal (1991 batch), Mr. K L N Rao (1992 batch), Mr. G S Malik (1993 batch) and Mr. Hasmukh Patel (1993 batch) were promoted from the ranks of ADG to Director General of Police (DGP).

Mr. Chirag Koradia (2006 batch) was made Inspector General (IG) of the Police Border Range, while Mr. J R Mothaliya (2001 batch) was mandated to assume office as the new IG (Ahmedabad range). IPS officer Mr. Prem Vir Singh (2005 batch) became the new IG of Surat Range.

Dr. Tarun Duggal (2011 batch), the present deputy commissioner of Police (Zone 7) of Ahmedabad city, was made the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Mehsana district, while Mr. Om Prakash Jat (2018 batch), the incumbent Anti Terrorist Squad SP, was made the new SP of Ahmedabad Rural.
