Following an official directive issued on February 29th, Mr. Atul Verma, a 1991-batch IPS officer, was appointed the Director General of CID, Himachal Pradesh. This move came after relieving the 1996-batch IPS officer, Mr. Satwant Atwal Trivedi, from the DG CID post, as he already serves as the Additional DGP of the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau. Mr. Verma had been posted as the ADG, Home Guards, Himachal Pradesh.
