Senior Indian Police Service officer Anand Jain took over as Inspector General of Police for the Jammu region on Monday.
The officer from the J&K cadre from 1999 took over from Additional Director General of Police Mukesh Singh, allowing him to go on a new duty with the government of India.
The officer previously served as the Director of the Jammu and Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau.
Prior to that, he held a number of significant positions in J&K, including Senior Superintendent of Police for Baramulla, Rajouri, and Jammu. He has also served as DIG NIA and IGP Headquarters, J&K.
