IPS Gyanendra Pratap Singh Appointed as DGP, Assam

He was presently posted as Special DGP (Law and Order) and will take over from Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta IPS (Assam-Meghalaya 1988).

1991 batch IPS officer Gyanendra Pratap Singh (Assam-Meghalaya) has been appointed as Director General of Police (DGP), Assam. He was presently posted as Special DGP (Law and Order) and will take over from Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta IPS (Assam-Meghalaya 1988).

Taking to twitter, Mr Singh requested the police personnel to provide a platform for the people of Assam to exchange ideas and communicate with junior, middle and senior police leadership in times of crisis. He asked them to accord respect and dignity to junior police personnel. He also requested to provide adequate and appropriate working environment for women police personnel.

He further urged them to earn respect by working sincerely and and being people-friendly.
