IPS officer Shivaji Shukla has replaced former DCP Salman Taj Patil as the latter has taken leave for Hajj visit
As former Kanpur DCP Salman Taj Patil has left for Saudi Arabia to do Hajj for nearly two and a half months, DCP Crime Shivaji Shukla has been appointed as DCP South. At the same time, IPS officer Ravina Tyagi has been given the additional charge of DCP Crime along with her original duties as DCP Traffic.
She will now handle both responsibilities together, until further notice.
IPS Patil will serve as a helper for those who are going to Hajj from India and during this time his deployment will be in the Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia. Police Commissioner BP Jogdand said that every year thousands of people from India participate in the annual Hajj pilgrimage.
For the Hajj, the Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Minority Welfare make arrangements for the movement of Indians on behalf of the Central Government.
During this time some officers are sent to Saudi Arabia who help the Indians going for Hajj abroad. This time DCP South Salman Taj Patil has been selected, he will stay in Jeddah city of Saudi Arabia for about two and a half months and will be helpful for Indian Hajj pilgrims.
