NCB’s Dy DG Sanjay Singh Levels Grave Allegation Against Controversial IRS Officer Sameer Wankhede

Mr. Singh said that Mr. Wankhede has been "forum hunting" and intentionally delaying the inquiries initiated against him
Indian Masterminds Stories

Amidst a recent development, the Deputy Director General of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Mr. Sanjay Singh (1996 batch IPS officer), leveled a grave allegation against the controversial NCB Zonal Director, Mr. Sameer Wankhede (2008 batch IRS officer), saying he (Officer Wankhede) had been “forum hunting” and had been intentionally delaying and prolonging the inquiries initiated against him. The NCB now seeks the dissolution of all the petitions filed by Mr. Wankhede to his senior officials, where he sought the quashing of the orders lodged against his name.

Enquiries were sanctioned against Mr. Wankhede after “grave complaints and irregularities” were lodged against him. While replying to NCB Advocate Ms. Manisha Jagtap, Officer Singh mentioned that the charges against Officer Wankhede were not anonymous but were made by actress Ms. Sapna Pabbi. Thus, preliminary enquiries can rightfully be initiated against him.

These enquiries shall be conducted regarding two cases that Mr. Wankhede had probed into in 2020 and 2021. In the 2020 case, Officer Wankhede took action against actress Rhea Chakraborty, and in the 2021 case, he probed into a matter involving a Nigerian national in a drug peddling case.
