After the removal of Uttar Pradesh’s DGP Mukul Goyal from his post and posted to the post of Civil Defense, now the big question is, who will next DGP of UP Police. The names of many police officers are coming up in this race. At present, IPS officers of 1987 and 1988 batch including DS Chauhan to Rajkumar Vishwakarma are floating in the corridors of power.
On the basis of seniority, 1987 batch IPS officer RP Singh is the senior most DG and is presently in the Directorate of Training. DG GL Meena in CBCID of 1987 batch at number two, DG Recruitment Board Raj Kumar Vishwakarma of 1988 batch on third, DG Intelligence Devendra Singh Chauhan of 1988 batch on fourth and DG Jail Anand Kumar of 1988 batch on fifth.
But according to the our sources, among all of them, the name of Devendra Singh Chauhan, a 1988 batch IPS officer, is in the forefront as the DGP of the state. He, presently posted as DG Vigilance, originally hails from Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh. His image is said to be very honest and clean. He is counted among the trustees of the Chief Minister.
But now if the panel is asked from the center, then it is difficult to include Chauhan’s name in it. Because Chauhan is at number four in the seniority order. But if the panel is sought after July, Chauhan’s name may be included in it. Because then the service period of GL Meena will be less than 6 months and under the rules of UPSC, a person who has a tenure of less than 6 months cannot be included in the panel.
