A senior police officer in Noida police is in problem as Police Commissioner Laxmi Singh, an IPS officer of 2000 batch, ordered departmental inquiry against him.
The officer allegedly appeared in a music video in his official uniform. This is considered as breach of professional conduct in police department.
The video has been doing the rounds on social media platforms like X.
One can see the Ajay Chahar, the officer in-charge of Sector 126 police station, working and taking calls on a desk in full uniform, in the video. Then he steps into car which carries a caste name, and leaves. In the next scene, he gets out of his car and talks with an actor in a fake police uniform and then to a group of actors sitting near a foot overbridge. The video ends with a wide shot of him walking with this group.
The Haryanvi lyrics of the song talks about the solidarity within the Jat community.
“The rules and guidelines prohibit police officers from deliberately appearing in such videos in their uniform. They are not allowed to get involved in such activities without formal permission,” a senior officer in Noida Police said.
