Mr. Gurjinder Pal Singh, a 1994-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Chhattisgarh cadre, has been promoted to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP).

The Supreme Court upheld this reinstatement, emphasizing the need for procedural accountability in such cases.
