IPS officer Manoj Malviya has been appointed as the Director General of Police of West Bengal until further notice .
Malviya turns up to be a pace setter to head the state police after a long delay from the Mamata Banerjee Government in announcing the descendants for Director General post.
Malviya , a 1986 batch officer is the senior most officer in the stated and succeeds Virendra , the present Director General.
Let it be noted that Mr. Malviya was promoted to DG rank in 2017. He is due to retire in 2023. During his career, he served on many position including the Additional Commissioner of Civil Aviation Security in Delhi and also served as DC, DD ( Special) in Kolkata police. The officer has also been hounoured by police medal in 2003.
