New Delhi: Senior IPS officer Manoj Tiwari has been appointed as the Director of the Dr. Ambedkar Foundation, New Delhi. The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment confirmed the appointment on Monday, following approval by the Competent Authority.
Mr Tiwari, a 2003-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of the Sikkim cadre, will take charge of the role on deputation basis. His tenure is set for five years from the date of assuming office or until further orders, whichever comes earlier. He has been directed to immediately relinquish his current post to join the new assignment.
Known for his wide-ranging experience in public administration and policing, Tiwari is expected to bring strategic leadership to the Foundation, which plays a crucial role in promoting the legacy and principles of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar—India’s iconic social reformer and architect of the Constitution.
The Dr. Ambedkar Foundation functions under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and is tasked with implementing welfare and educational programs to foster social justice, equality, and empowerment, especially among marginalized communities.
With Tiwari at the helm, the Foundation is poised to enhance its impact and visibility, aligning its initiatives more closely with the government’s broader social justice agenda.
