The state government of Uttar Pradesh has appointed to IPS officer Nachiketa Jha to investigate the slapping a school boy. The step was taken on the orders of Supreme Court. An IPS of Uttar Pradesh cadre and 2003 batch Mr. Jha has served as IG, Agra Range and as IG, Meerut Range, Uttar Pradesh.
Let it be noted that at Neha Public School in Khubbapur village of Muzaffarnagar district a eight-year-old Muslim boy who was subjected to repeated slapping by his classmates on the orders of a teacher. The video of that went which outburst a nationwide outrage. A case was filed against the teacher under IPC Section 504 and 323. Later on the UP police added section 75 of the Juvenile Justice Act in the FIR.
