Sanjay A Lathkar (IPS: 1995: JH) has been appointed as Inspector General (Security) under the Department of Atomic Energy in the rank and pay of Additional Director General (ADG).
An official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday, February 10, 2025, confirms that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved this appointment. Lathkar will serve in the position until his superannuation on September 30, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In his new role, Lathkar will be responsible for overseeing the security operations within the Department of Atomic Energy, ensuring the protection of sensitive assets and infrastructure related to India’s nuclear energy sector.
