In a significant development, 1993 batch IRAS officer Manoj Kumar Dubey, currently serving as Director (Finance) at Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR), has been chosen for the prestigious role of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) at the Indian Railway Finance Corporation Ltd. (IRFC).
The decision was made by the Search cum Selection Committee (SCSC) during its meeting held on Tuesday, where Dubey’s candidacy received unanimous approval.
IRFC, established in December 1986, plays a crucial role as the dedicated funding arm of Indian Railways, mobilizing funds from both domestic and international markets to meet the substantial funding requirements of the railway sector. The corporation operates as a Schedule ‘A’ Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative purview of the Ministry of Railways, Government of India.
The post of CMD at IRFC has been filled on an ad-hoc basis for the past two years, with Shelly Verma, Director (Finance), IRFC, serving as the interim CMD during this period. Dubey’s appointment is pending final approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC), after which he is expected to assume office and bring his extensive financial expertise to bear upon IRFC’s strategic initiatives.
