State-owned National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) announced on Monday that it has extended the tenure of Amitava Mukherjee as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) for an additional year. Mukherjee, who is currently serving as the company’s Director (Finance), had been entrusted with the additional charge of CMD earlier.
In a regulatory filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), NMDC stated, “The additional charge of the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD), NMDC Ltd assigned to Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance), NMDC Limited is extended for a further period of one year with effect from November 20, 2024, or until the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.”
Amitava Mukherjee is a 1995-batch officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS). His leadership will continue to steer the company during this extended period as NMDC navigates through various growth and strategic initiatives.
