New Delhi: Provigil Surveillance, a wholly owned subsidiary of Magellanic Cloud Limited, has secured a ₹2.25 crore contract from the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) to deploy an advanced, AI-enabled surveillance and analytics system across IRCTC-authorised kitchen units. The initiative is aimed at strengthening hygiene standards, operational governance and transparency in railway catering services.
AI-Based Real-Time Monitoring Platform
Under the contract, Provigil Surveillance will implement a real-time CCTV live-streaming and analytics solution, enabling continuous monitoring of kitchen operations through a centralized digital portal. The AI-powered system will allow IRCTC officials to remotely oversee food preparation areas, ensure hygiene compliance and proactively detect operational irregularities.
The project is expected to improve accountability and help IRCTC maintain consistent service quality across its vast catering network.
Focus on Hygiene, Transparency and Governance
The deployment of AI-driven surveillance technology will play a crucial role in enhancing food safety standards for millions of railway passengers. By leveraging advanced analytics, the system will support early identification of lapses, enable timely corrective actions and reinforce governance mechanisms within IRCTC’s catering ecosystem.
This move aligns with IRCTC’s ongoing efforts to modernise operations and adopt technology-driven solutions for improved passenger experience.

For the second quarter of FY26, the company reported a 14.43% year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹27.83 crore, while revenue grew 4.54% to ₹164.44 crore compared to the same period last year. Following the contract announcement, Magellanic Cloud’s shares rose 0.50% to ₹26.26 on the BSE.
