New Delhi: Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), has been conferred with the prestigious ‘CMA ICON 2025’ award. The recognition was presented by Shri Sadanand Date, Director General of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), during the 12th National Students’ Convocation – 2025 of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Recognising Visionary Leadership in Renewable Energy

The award honours Shri Das’s outstanding leadership and contribution to the renewable energy sector and financial management. Since taking over as CMD of IREDA in May 2020, he has steered the organisation to new heights of performance and sustainability, playing a pivotal role in supporting India’s energy transition agenda.

Inspiring the Next Generation: The ‘DAS’ Principle

During the convocation, Shri Das delivered a motivational speech to new CMA graduates, urging them to adopt the ‘DAS’ Principle — Discipline, Attitude, and Simplicity — as a cornerstone for success in both professional and personal life. He also felicitated CMA rank-holders with medals and extended his heartfelt congratulations.

A Career of Distinction

A Commerce graduate from the University of Calcutta and a management postgraduate from Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, Shri Das is a Fellow of The Institute of Cost Accountants of India and an Associate Member of The Institute of Company Secretaries of India. With over 38 years of experience in finance, banking, corporate governance, audit, resource mobilisation, and disinvestment, he has held senior leadership roles in several reputed institutions.

Recognition for IREDA’s Finance Leadership

Adding to the occasion, Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), IREDA, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the institute, acknowledging his valuable contribution to the cost accountancy profession and the clean energy sector.
