IREDA Wins Silver at 6th Green Urja Awards for Women Leadership in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency

New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd. (IREDA), a leading government-owned agency in renewable energy financing, has been honored with the Silver Award under the “Excellence Award for Women in Green Energy and Energy Efficiency” at the 6th Green Urja and Energy Efficiency Awards. The awards ceremony was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce in New Delhi.

The award was presented by Mr. Anil Razdan, Former Secretary (Power), along with other dignitaries. On behalf of IREDA, the award was received by Mrs. Mala Ghosh Choudhury, General Manager (HR); Ms. Durre Shahwar, General Manager (HR); and Mrs. Punnu Grover, Chief Compliance Officer, along with other women officers from the organization.

Recognition of Women Leadership in Green Energy

Congratulating the team, Mr. Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman and Managing Director of IREDA, said,
“This recognition reflects IREDA’s sustained efforts to build a supportive and inclusive workplace, where women professionals are encouraged to grow and contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy journey. With around 23% women employees, among the highest in CPSEs, IREDA firmly believes that empowering women is essential for building a strong and future-ready clean energy ecosystem.”

The award highlights IREDA’s commitment to gender diversity, women empowerment, and creating an enabling environment for women to take leadership roles in the renewable energy sector.

Strengthening India’s Clean Energy Ecosystem

The recognition also underscores IREDA’s broader mandate to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency across India. Mr. Das also expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Union Minister for New & Renewable Energy, the Minister of State for New & Renewable Energy, Secretary MNRE, Board of Directors, and all stakeholders for their guidance and support in achieving this milestone.
