New Delhi/Hyderabad: In the latest bureaucratic reshuffle, key appointments were announced on Friday across central and state governments, aiming to strengthen governance and transparency.
Chandra Madhav Singh Appointed Deputy Secretary in Department of Consumer Affairs
Chandra Madhav Singh, a 2015-batch Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer, has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India.
The appointment is for a tenure of four years, as per the official notification issued on October 3. Singh is expected to play a crucial role in shaping policies around consumer protection, product standards, and regulatory frameworks in the evolving consumer rights landscape.

Shika Goel Takes Over as Director General of Vigilance & Enforcement, Telangana
In a key development in Telangana’s administrative setup, senior IPS officer Shika Goel has assumed charge as the Director General of Vigilance & Enforcement. She will also serve as the Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department (GAD).
Goel, who is known for her tech-savvy policing and commitment to ethical governance, will continue to head the Cyber Security Bureau in the state. Speaking to the media, she expressed her commitment to increasing transparency in government operations.
“My focus will be on making the government system more transparent, accountable, and citizen-friendly. I will continue to serve the people of Telangana with full dedication,” she stated.
Shika Goel has held several prominent positions in the past and is respected for her efforts in promoting digital safety and women’s security initiatives.
