New Delhi: The Central Government on Tuesday approved the promotion of Ms. Diptasri Barma Arora (IRS-C&IT:1991) to the senior grade of Principal Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes in the Higher Administrative Grade (HAG).
Promotion Against 2020 Panel Year
According to an official order, Ms. Arora has been promoted to Level 15 of the Pay Matrix, against the panel year 2020. The promotion is effective:
Notionally from: September 11, 2020
On actual basis from: The date she assumed charge of the post on an ad-hoc basis, and will continue until further orders.
Over Three Decades in Service
Ms. Arora is a seasoned officer from the 1991 batch of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes). She has served in multiple key roles across the Customs and Indirect Taxation departments and brings with her over 30 years of administrative and technical expertise.
Her elevation to the Principal Commissioner rank recognizes her long-standing contribution to tax policy implementation, enforcement, and regulatory compliance within the CBIC framework.
Background: Higher Administrative Grade (HAG)
The HAG level (Level 15) is one of the top senior grades in the Central Government services, typically assigned to officers heading major field formations or serving in strategic policy-making roles.
