Spurthi Reddy, an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer of the 2011 batch, has been appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL), Hyderabad, a Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence. The Central Government announced her appointment on January 31.
Reddy will serve as CVO for a tenure extending up to February 22, 2028, or until further orders, whichever comes first. The appointment was officially notified by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).
BDL is one of India’s manufacturers of ammunitions and missile systems. It was founded in 1970 in Hyderabad, India. BDL has been working in collaboration with DRDO & foreign Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) for manufacture and supply of various missiles and allied equipment to Indian Armed Forces, it began by producing a first generation anti-tank guided missile – the French SS11B1.
