New Delhi: The Centre has issued a set of appointments and tenure-extension orders involving senior officers across the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Staff Selection Commission and Department of School Education & Literacy.
The orders, issued on Tuesday, include the extension of tenure of IAS officer Rakesh Gupta and IDAS officer Satish T J, besides the appointment of IRS C&IT officer Rajesh Kumar Meena as Deputy Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy.
Rakesh Gupta’s Tenure Extended Till September 2028
Rakesh Gupta (IAS: 1997: HY), Additional Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare, has been granted a two-year extension beyond his existing tenure.
His tenure, which was scheduled to end on September 14, 2026, has now been extended up to September 14, 2028.
The extension will allow Gupta to continue in his present role in the Health & Family Welfare Department for another two years.

Satish T J Gets Six-Month Extension at SSC
Satish T J (IDAS: 2010), who is serving as Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination (Director level), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), has also received a tenure extension.
His tenure has been extended by six months beyond August 31, 2026, and he will now continue in the post up to February 28, 2027.
The extension comes at the examination body responsible for conducting recruitment examinations for various posts under the Central government.
Rajesh Kumar Meena Appointed Deputy Secretary
In another appointment, Rajesh Kumar Meena (IRS C&IT: 2015) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy.
He has been appointed for a tenure of four years.
Meena’s appointment brings an IRS officer into a key administrative role in the school education and literacy division of the Ministry of Education.
