New Delhi: 1995 batch IRSSE (Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers) officer Sunil Kumar Verma, currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Telecommunications, has been repatriated to his parent cadre on personal grounds.
The repatriation, along with the imposition of an extended cooling-off period, was approved by the competent authority, as per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday.
Mr Verma had been posted to the Department of Telecommunications in May 2022, when he was one of 24 officers appointed to Joint Secretary-level positions across various ministries and departments. His central deputation was originally scheduled to last until May 2027. However, his tenure has now been cut short, and he will return to his parent cadre ahead of schedule.
As part of the repatriation, Verma will be subject to the cooling-off condition, which is a standard procedure for officers returning to their parent cadres after serving in central deputation.
