New Delhi — In a significant reshuffle within the Indian Railways, the Ministry of Railways on Thursday announced the appointment of 32 new Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) across various zones of the country. This decision comes following the completion of the two-year tenure of the existing DRMs.
Shivaji Sutar Maruti Appointed as OSD to Railway Minister
One of the key appointments in this round of reshuffles is that of Mr Shivaji Sutar Maruti, an officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) from the Central Railway Zone. He has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
According to the official order issued by the Railway Board, Mr. Sutar will be transferred to the Railway Board and posted as OSD/MOR (Ministry of Railways), until further orders.
Mr Sutar, an officer of Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) has also been Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of the Central Railway.

The large-scale transfers were carried out with the approval of the President of India and are aimed at streamlining administrative efficiency and bringing fresh leadership to the railway divisions. Administrative Process and Post Realignment
The order specifies that the post occupied by Sutar in the Central Railway — Secretary to Additional General Manager (AGM), bearing Position Code: 01CR5P004 — will be utilized for his new posting. The sanction for the transfer of the post to the Railway Board will be issued separately, indicating a formal administrative procedure underway to facilitate this high-level transition.
