The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Mr. Naveen Kumar, a 1994-batch Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) officer, as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL). PGCIL, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, will have Kumar serving an initial tenure of three years from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders.

Additionally, Mr. Rajnesh Singh, a 2003-batch Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering (IRSME) officer, has been appointed as the CVO of GAIL (India) Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG). His tenure will extend until March 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Before this appointment, Mr. Singh served as Director in the Department of Heavy Industries, under the Ministry of Heavy Industries. He was previously Director, Mechanical Engineering (Computer & Information Systems) in the Railway Board. These appointments reinforce the government’s commitment to strengthening vigilance and governance in key public sector enterprises.
