Kanke: The Jharkhand Education Project Council, under the School Education and Literacy Department of the state government, organized a job fair for students who have completed vocational education. The event was held on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Venture Skill India (DDU-KK) Mega Skill Centre in Kanke.
A total of 450 students participated in the fair, which saw the active involvement of 25 prominent companies from sectors including healthcare, IT, beauty and wellness, automotive, and apparel. These companies offered employment opportunities across various cities including Ranchi, Patna, and Bhubaneswar.
Promoting Vocational Education in Jharkhand
Jharkhand currently runs vocational education programs in 803 schools, covering classes 9 to 12. The curriculum spans 11 different sectors and follows the standards of the National Skills Qualifications Framework (NSQF). These programs aim to equip students with practical skills and enhance their employability in various industries.
Key Highlights and Remarks
Shashi Ranjan, State Project Director, highlighted the significance of vocational education, emphasizing that in today’s times, skilled youth with hands-on experience are better prepared for successful careers. Amit Kumar, the Nodal Officer, described the initiative as a positive step towards employment-oriented education and assured that similar events will continue in the future to provide more opportunities for students.

The successful execution of the job fair was made possible with special support from the organization Land A Hand India, which collaborated closely with the Jharkhand Education Project Council.
