Ranchi: Jharkhand, a state celebrated for its rich tribal heritage, art, music, and cultural traditions, is set to welcome a world-class cultural centre with the construction of Rabindra Bhavan in Ranchi. Developed by the Jharkhand Urban Infrastructure Development Company (JUIDCO) under the Urban Development Department, the massive cultural complex has been built at an estimated cost of ₹2244 crore.

The state-of-the-art facility is expected to become a major hub for cultural activities in Jharkhand and across eastern India, providing opportunities for artists, performers, writers, and cultural enthusiasts.

Voices from the Cultural Community

Ashutosh Singh, Public Relations Officer at JUIDCO, said, “The centre will be inaugurated at the earliest and will be open not only to the artists of the state but also to cultural artists from across eastern India. This will benefit local artists by providing opportunities for training, performances, and hosting seminars and discussions.”

Bengali cultural artist Subir Lahini expressed his appreciation, stating, “I express my gratitude to Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the Jharkhand government for gifting such a magnificent auditorium to the people of Ranchi.”

Academician and writer Dr. Kamal Bose noted, “When the infrastructure is strong, creativity also flourishes. This building is equipped with all modern facilities. When facilities are available, obstacles fade away. Writers, artists, and litterateurs will come here with complete dedication, sit together, and create, thereby strengthening creativity.”

A Vision to Make Ranchi a Cultural Hub

Rabindra Bhavan, one of the largest and most advanced cultural complexes in eastern India, embodies Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s vision of transforming Ranchi into a major cultural hub. The centre is expected to enhance Jharkhand’s literary and artistic identity, offering a premier platform for artists, performers, and cultural enthusiasts to collaborate, perform, and showcase their talents.

With its modern infrastructure and expansive facilities, Rabindra Bhavan is poised to elevate the cultural landscape of Jharkhand, positioning the state as a beacon for art, music, and creative expression in the region.
