Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has ordered a significant reshuffle in its administrative structure, transferring 24 officers, including 20 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and 4 Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers.

The transfer orders, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) on Wednesday, are to be implemented with immediate effect.

Top-Level IAS Postings and Reassignments
Several senior IAS officers have been assigned new responsibilities across crucial departments

  • 1995 batch IAS officer Anil Kumar Singh has been appointed Principal Secretary, Social Welfare Department, with additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Mining Department.
  • Saurabh Bhagat, earlier Commissioner/Secretary, Science and Technology, is now Commissioner/Secretary, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department.

Dr. Shahid Iqbal has been appointed Secretary, Science and Technology Department.

  • Dr. Piyush Singla (2012 batch) – Administrative Secretary, Information Technology Department

The government has directed all transferred officers to assume their new charges immediately, underlining the strategic importance of these reassignments for improving governance and service delivery.
