Srinagar: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has assigned additional administrative responsibilities to two senior IAS officers in the interest of ensuring smooth governance and continuity in key departments, officials said.
According to an official order issued in Srinagar, the move involves senior officers Saurabh Bhagat and Sheetal Nanda, who will temporarily hold additional charges of key departments until the regular incumbents resume their duties.
Saurabh Bhagat Given Additional Charge of IT Department
As per the order, Saurabh Bhagat, who is currently serving as Commissioner/Secretary in the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department Jammu and Kashmir, has been entrusted with the additional charge of Administrative Secretary of the Information Technology Department Jammu and Kashmir.
He will hold this responsibility until Piyush Singla resumes his duties.
Officials said the temporary arrangement has been made to ensure that administrative work and policy implementation in the IT Department continue without disruption.

Sheetal Nanda Assigned Charge of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj
In another administrative arrangement, Sheetal Nanda, currently serving as Commissioner/Secretary of the Forest Ecology and Environment Department Jammu and Kashmir, has been assigned the additional charge of Administrative Secretary of the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department Jammu and Kashmir.
She will continue to manage both departments until Mohd Aijaz returns to duty.
Move Aimed at Ensuring Administrative Continuity
Officials stated that the temporary assignment of additional responsibilities is a routine administrative step aimed at maintaining continuity in governance and ensuring that departmental work proceeds smoothly in the absence of the designated officers.
The Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department plays a crucial role in implementing rural development schemes and strengthening Panchayati Raj institutions across the Union Territory, while the Information Technology Department oversees digital governance initiatives and technological infrastructure within the administration.
The government order ensures that key decision-making processes and departmental coordination continue without delays.
