Bengaluru: In a minor administrative reshuffle, the Siddaramaiah-led Karnataka government on Monday issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS officers, introducing key changes across departments such as school education, tourism, health, and urban transport in Bengaluru.
The reshuffle is seen as a strategic move to streamline governance and improve inter-departmental coordination in the state capital.
Transfer and Posting Orders at a Glance
As per the official government order dated October 6, the following changes have been made –
Thrilok Chandra K.V. (IAS: 2007: KN)
- From: Commissioner, Department of School Education, Bengaluru
- To: Secretary, Tourism Department, Bengaluru
A 2007-batch IAS officer, Thrilok Chandra K.V. has been moved from the education sector to oversee Karnataka’s tourism initiatives. His administrative experience is expected to boost the state’s efforts in tourism promotion and infrastructure development.
Sivakumar K.B. (IAS: 2010: KN)
- Current Role: Commissioner, Health & Family Welfare Services, Bengaluru
- New Additional Charge: Managing Director, Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC)
With this move, Sivakumar K.B. will now handle dual responsibilities. As MD of BMTC, he will oversee the city’s critical public transportation operations while continuing to lead the Health and Family Welfare Services department – two high-impact portfolios in the Bengaluru Metropolitan Region.
Suralkar Vikas Kishor (IAS: 2012: KN)
- From: Special Commissioner (Health and Education), Greater Bengaluru Authority
- To: Commissioner, Department of School Education, Bengaluru
- Additional Charge: Continues as Special Commissioner (Health and Education), Greater Bengaluru Authority
A rising officer in the 2012 batch, Suralkar Vikas Kishor has now taken charge of the Department of School Education in Bengaluru. Notably, he will continue to hold his earlier post as Special Commissioner (Health and Education) under the Greater Bengaluru Authority, ensuring policy continuity across departments impacting the city’s health and education sectors.
