Koyla Shakti Dashboard: A Leap Towards Smart, Data-Driven Coal and Logistics Management in India

NICDC’s Digital Platform Powered by ULIP Brings Transparency, Efficiency, and Sustainability to the Coal Sector
Indian Masterminds Stories

In a landmark step towards India’s digital and sustainable infrastructure goals, the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has launched the “Koyla Shakti” – Smart Coal Analytics Dashboard (SCAD). The platform, developed under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal and powered by the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), was unveiled by Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy.

The Koyla Shakti Dashboard marks a major stride in integrating real-time analytics, smart logistics, and digital governance within India’s coal ecosystem. By providing end-to-end visibility of coal production, transportation, and consumption, the platform is designed to enhance transparency, optimize logistics, and support sustainability across the entire value chain.

Aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India and National Logistics Policy, the initiative showcases NICDC’s expanding role in building next-generation digital infrastructure for industrial and logistics systems. Leveraging ULIP’s interoperable architecture, Koyla Shakti enables secure data exchange across logistics nodes — from railways, ports, and customs to coal producers and power utilities.

With over 48 APIs integrated and data sourced from 15 major ports, Koyla Shakti provides real-time insights into the coal supply chain, setting a new benchmark for the “One Nation, One Dashboard” approach. The integration of predictive analytics and sustainability monitoring tools allows for smarter decision-making, proactive management, and greater environmental accountability.

The platform’s launch highlights NICDC’s evolution from industrial corridor developer to digital transformation leader, applying its experience in creating industrial smart cities and logistics parks to building data-driven governance systems.

Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Dev Dutt, Secretary, Ministry of Coal, and Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, emphasized that Koyla Shakti represents the future of smart logistics, enabling India to move towards efficient, technology-led, and environmentally responsible coal management. With Koyla Shakti, NICDC continues to strengthen its mission of innovation-driven growth, reinforcing India’s position as a global leader in digital infrastructure and sustainable industrial development.
