Lalnunmawia Chuaungo will be the New Chief Information Commissioner of Mizoram

The current chief secretary of Mizoram Mr. Lalnunmawia Chuaungo has been appointed as the new Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) of the state. He will retire voluntarily in October end.

According to an official statement the notification to appoint Mr. Chuaungo as the new Chief Information Officer was issued by the General Administration department on October 20

He is a Gujarat cadre IAS officer of the 1987 batch and working in joint AGMUT cadre. Mr. Chuaungo assumed the charge as chief secretary (CS) in February 2019 on inter-cadre deputation. The senior IAS officer has also served as principal secretary of the Mizoram home department.

Recently, he sought voluntary retirement from his post, which the Gujarat government approved and allowed him to retire on October 31.
