New Delhi: Arindam Chaudhary, IAS (2014 Batch), has officially ceased to serve as the Part-Time Official Director (Government Nominee) on the Board of SJVN Ltd effective August 1, 2025. The development follows a formal notification issued by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
Chaudhary, who was appointed as the Government Nominee Director on the Board of SJVN Limited on 12 July 2024, represented the interests of the Himachal Pradesh Government in the joint venture company. His departure marks the end of a tenure dedicated to governance oversight and administrative contribution.
Bhupender Gupta Gets Additional Charge as CMD, SJVN
Following the vacancy, the Ministry of Power has assigned the additional charge of the post of Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of SJVN Ltd to Mr. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), THDC India Limited. The appointment is effective from August 1, 2025, for a period of three months or until a regular appointment is made, whichever is earlier.
Mr. Bhupender Gupta, a senior technocrat in the power sector, currently holds a directorial position at Tehri Hydro Development Corporation (THDC) and brings decades of experience in energy infrastructure and strategic leadership.

Mr. Arindam Chaudhary is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2014 Batch. He holds a degree in Computer Science from Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani. As Nominee Director, he played an important liaison role between the State Government and SJVN, contributing to policy alignment and stakeholder engagement.
