New Delhi: In a key administrative development, the Ministry of Power has extended the additional charge of Director (Finance) at SJVN Limited to Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who currently serves as the Director (Finance) and Chairman & Managing Director (Additional Charge) at NHPC Limited. The extension is effective from July 1, 2025, for a period of two months or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
The update was disclosed by SJVN Limited through a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on Friday.

Superseding Previous Arrangement
This decision replaces the earlier interim arrangement under which Sipan Kumar Garg, Director (Finance) of THDC India Limited, was given the additional charge of Director (Finance), SJVN with effect from July 1. Garg’s appointment now stands withdrawn following the Ministry’s superseding order.
Profile of Rajendra Prasad Goyal
Goyal, a veteran finance executive, has been serving as Director (Finance) at NHPC since October 1, 2020, and also holds the additional charge of CMD. A Cost Accountant and Commerce postgraduate from the University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Goyal began his journey with NHPC in 1988 as a Senior Accountant at the Salal Power Station in Jammu & Kashmir.
In his over 34 years of service, Goyal has held several key roles across project sites including Chamera-I, Dulhasti, Jammu, and Faridabad. Before becoming Director (Finance), he served as Chief General Manager (Finance), where he oversaw Corporate Accounts, Taxation, Treasury, Investor Relations, and Establishment.

- NHPC Renewable Energy Limited
- Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited
He also serves as Nominee Director on the boards of:

- Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Corporation Ltd
- NHDC Ltd

- SJVN Arun-3 Power Development Company
