New Delhi: In a key leadership development within the public sector, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended Sharad Kumar, currently General Manager at Cement Corporation of India Ltd. (CCI), for the post of Director (Planning) at Andrew Yule & Co. Ltd., a central public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Heavy Industries.
The recommendation was made following PESB Meeting No. 56/2025, held at 11:30 AM on July 3, where eight senior professionals from leading CPSEs—including NTPC, Engineers India Ltd., BHEL, HPCL, and Andrew Yule—were interviewed for the role.

Kumar Emerges as Top Contender
Sharad Kumar distinguished himself through a rigorous selection process that emphasized strategic planning, leadership acumen, and sectoral experience. His professional record at CCI positioned him as a strong candidate to steer Andrew Yule’s planning and transformation agenda.
Strategic Role in a Legacy Enterprise
Once approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and pending formal issuance of his Director Identification Number (DIN), Mr. Kumar will officially join the board of Andrew Yule & Co. Ltd., a Schedule ‘B’ PSU with operations in engineering, electrical, and tea divisions.
As Director (Planning), he will play a key role in advancing the company’s operational roadmap in alignment with national industrial objectives and sustainable growth priorities.
