Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that eight cheetahs from Botswana will be brought to Madhya Pradesh on February 28, marking another significant step in the state’s wildlife conservation efforts.
Speaking about the state’s potential in tourism, forest reserves, and wildlife protection, the Chief Minister highlighted that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and with the support of the Central Government, Madhya Pradesh is taking unprecedented initiatives to safeguard its rich biodiversity.
After the successful reintroduction of cheetahs in Kuno National Park, Shyopur, the state is now set to see wild buffaloes from Assam roaming freely in its forests, further enhancing wildlife diversity.
CM Dr. Yadav Meets Union Environment Minister in Delhi
In a high-level meeting in New Delhi, CM Dr. Yadav discussed all necessary procedures to bring wild buffaloes from Assam with Union Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Mr. Bhupendra Yadav.
The meeting also focused on detailed arrangements and support for the reintroduction of cheetahs. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the central government for its cooperation in wildlife conservation and biodiversity enhancement, while Minister Bhupendra Yadav appreciated Madhya Pradesh’s efforts and assured full support for ongoing and future projects.
Madhya Pradesh Marks ‘Kisan Kalyan Varsh’ and Wheat Procurement Drive
Apart from wildlife initiatives, CM Dr. Yadav met Union Minister of Food and Public Distribution, Mr. Prahlad Joshi to discuss the Kisan Kalyan Varsh being celebrated in the state. The program aims to ensure fair prices for farmers’ produce and strengthen agricultural welfare.
The Chief Minister stated that the wheat procurement and storage process is set to begin across Madhya Pradesh, ensuring smooth operations with adequate storage facilities. Union Minister Mr. Joshi assured all necessary support from the central government for the state’s wheat procurement operations.
