Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the 25th meeting of the Central Zonal Council held in Varanasi on Tuesday. The meeting was chaired by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Mr. Amit Shah and was attended by Chief Ministers of four states—Mr. Yogi Adityanath (Uttar Pradesh), Mr. Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand), and Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai (Chhattisgarh).
Dr. Yadav said on social media platform ‘X’ that the meeting, focused on important topics such as coordination among states, various dimensions of development, security, health, and tourism, will prove meaningful in realizing the vision of the successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a developed India. He added that besides in-depth discussions on the agenda points set for the meeting, presentations on best practices from the states were also given.
Focus on Coordination and Good Governance
Dr. Yadav emphasised that ensuring security, achieving good governance, and driving prosperity through mutual cooperation are the core objectives of his government. He said the meeting would prove significant in realising Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’ (Developed India). He added that in-depth discussions on the agenda, including coordination between states, health, development, tourism, and security, were held. Presentations on best practices adopted by participating states were also showcased.
Zonal Council’s Mandate and Broader Vision
The Central Zonal Council aims to foster cooperation among member states, resolve inter-state disputes through dialogue, promote the balanced use of natural resources, and address region-specific challenges. The meeting also took up issues related to administrative coordination, regional development, and inter-state policy alignment.
Temple Visit Prior to the Meeting
Before the council meeting, Dr. Mohan Yadav visited the Baba Kashi Vishwanath temple and the Kaal Bhairav temple in Varanasi. He offered prayers for the welfare and prosperity of Madhya Pradesh and the nation. He also interacted with devotees during his temple visit.
Senior Leadership Present at the Meet
Dr. Yadav was accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Jagdish Deora, Urban Administration Minister Mr. Kailash Vijayvargiya, Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain, and Additional Chief Secretary (Home). Chief Secretaries from Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Chhattisgarh, representatives from NITI Aayog, and senior officers of the Inter-State Council Secretariat also attended the meeting.
