Jabalpur: In a major public health initiative, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav participated in the ‘National HPV Vaccination Campaign against Cervical Cancer’ program in Jabalpur on Monday, as part of Fit India Women’s Week 2026. During the event, CM Yadav announced the state-wide launch of the HPV vaccination drive, offering the vaccine free of cost to girls aged 14 years and above, valued at ₹4,000 per dose.
Free HPV Vaccination to Protect Young Girls
Addressing the gathering, CM Dr. Yadav emphasized that cervical cancer is one of the most critical health challenges faced by young girls. He stated that the HPV vaccine provides long-term protection against cervical and uterine cancer, safeguarding girls from life-threatening illnesses.
As part of the campaign, girls who have already received the vaccine were awarded vaccination certificates, reinforcing the importance of preventive healthcare. CM Yadav urged parents and young girls to avail the HPV vaccination and ensure timely immunization.

Development Initiatives Worth Over ₹37 Crore
Apart from health initiatives, the Chief Minister also inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan for various development projects worth more than ₹37 crore in the region. These projects aim to improve local infrastructure, social welfare, and economic development, reflecting the state government’s focus on holistic growth.
Empowering Women and Girls in Madhya Pradesh
CM Yadav highlighted that the state government is committed to women’s welfare, from ‘Laadli Sisters’ to Laadli Lakshmi daughters’, by implementing continuous welfare programs. Key initiatives include:
- Monthly financial support of ₹1,500 to over 1.25 crore Laadli Sisters directly into their bank accounts.
- ₹5,000 incentive for girls working in employment-oriented industries.
- Significant efforts to reduce gender inequality, including 50% reservation in local body elections and 33% reservation for women in the State Assembly and Lok Sabha.
CM Yadav praised the achievements of girls in Madhya Pradesh, noting that they are excelling in diverse fields, including defense, education, and entrepreneurship, paving the way for a brighter future.

The HPV vaccination drive and the government’s initiatives for women’s empowerment showcase Madhya Pradesh’s dual focus on health and socio-economic development. By combining preventive healthcare with financial and social incentives, the state aims to strengthen the role of women and girls in society while protecting them from serious health risks.
