Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced major relief measures for farmers, including a bonus on wheat and urad procurement and an extension of the registration deadline for wheat procurement. The decisions were taken after a meeting with representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh at the Chief Minister’s residence on Friday.
The announcements are aimed at strengthening farmer welfare and ensuring better returns for agricultural produce across the state.
₹40 Bonus on Wheat Procurement
The Chief Minister announced that the Madhya Pradesh government will provide a ₹40 per quintal bonus on wheat procurement for the current season. This will be in addition to the Minimum Support Price (MSP) fixed by the Government of India, which stands at ₹2,585 per quintal for wheat.
According to the state government, the additional bonus will benefit lakhs of farmers by increasing their overall earnings during the procurement season.

Registration Deadline Extended
To ensure that more farmers are able to participate in the procurement process, the government has extended the registration deadline for wheat procurement from March 7 to March 10.
This move is expected to allow farmers who have not yet registered to complete the process and sell their produce at the MSP along with the state bonus.
₹600 Bonus Announced on Urad Procurement
In another significant decision, the Chief Minister announced a ₹600 per quintal bonus on urad procurement. The government has encouraged farmers to expand urad cultivation so they can benefit from the additional incentive.
The decision is also aimed at promoting crop diversification and strengthening the availability of pulses in the state.
Daytime Electricity for Irrigation
The state government also plans to provide daytime electricity supply for irrigation to reduce the risks faced by farmers who currently irrigate their fields at night.
Daytime power supply is expected to improve safety, reduce operational difficulties, and make irrigation more convenient for farmers across the state.
Meeting with Farmers’ Representatives
The decisions were finalized during a meeting between Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and representatives of Bharatiya Kisan Sangh. During the discussion, several farmer-related issues and suggestions were reviewed, and the government assured continued support for agricultural development.
The Chief Minister reiterated that the state government remains committed to improving farmers’ income and ensuring their long-term prosperity.
Focus on Farmer Welfare
Posting about the decisions on social media, the Chief Minister emphasized that the government is working with dedication toward farmer welfare and prosperity. He also stated that similar farmer-friendly policies will continue to be implemented in the future.
The new announcements are expected to provide financial support to farmers while encouraging better crop planning and improving agricultural productivity in Madhya Pradesh.
