Bhopal: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has directed officials to ensure maximum reach and impact of schemes related to child and women nutrition, health, and empowerment. Speaking during a high-level review of the Women and Child Development Department, the CM emphasized coordinated efforts with the School Education and Health Departments to improve program implementation and maximize benefits for beneficiaries.
Focus on Nutrition, Health, and Women Empowerment
Dr. Yadav highlighted the importance of leveraging technology and IT tools to monitor program implementation efficiently. He instructed department officials to work closely with the Technical Education and Industry Departments to prepare skill development plans aimed at enhancing women’s employability and self-reliance.
The Chief Minister stressed strict monitoring of Ladli Laxmi scheme beneficiaries to prevent dropout at any stage. He directed that reasons for any dropout should be addressed immediately to ensure reintegration into the program. Dr. Yadav underscored that any negligence in implementation of women- and child-focused schemes would not be tolerated.
Departmental Achievements in the Past Two Years
The meeting included presentations on departmental accomplishments and innovations over the last two years:
- Anganwadi Recruitment: Madhya Pradesh became the first state in India to implement a completely transparent, online recruitment process for Anganwadi workers.
- Take-Home Ration (THR) System: The Face Recognition System (FRS) for THR delivery earned national recognition, making Madhya Pradesh the leading state in the country.
- Sponsorship Scheme: 20,243 children benefited under the sponsorship scheme, placing the state second nationally.
- Real-Time Monitoring: Advanced modules were developed for real-time monitoring of building construction and attendance using 20-meter geofencing for transparency.
- PM Matru Vandana Yojana: Over 970,000 pregnant women received financial assistance amounting to more than ₹512 crore.
- Ladli Bahna Scheme: ₹3,677.8 crore distributed from January 2024 to November 2025 to support women’s welfare.
- One-Stop Centers: 52,095 women received safety and legal support through state facilities.
- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: 6,520 driving licenses and training for 8,637 girls in competitive examinations.
- Anganwadi Upgradation: 12,670 centers declared as “capable Anganwadis” with improved facilities.
District-Level Innovations
Several districts have pioneered innovative programs to enhance child and women welfare:
- Dindori: Under the Rewa Project, children receive health check-ups, nutrition kits, and hygiene kits.
- Ashoknagar: Heart Campaign distributes nutrition material and monitors child nutrition levels.
- Dewas: The Kilkari Campaign encourages private institutions to participate in child development initiatives.
- Neemuch: “Our Anganwadi Campaign” provides nutritious food and health check-ups to malnourished children with the help of nutrition volunteers.
- Datia: Mera Bachcha Campaign encourages capable individuals to adopt and monitor malnourished children.
Plans for the Next Three Years
Dr. Yadav outlined the department’s roadmap for the coming three years:
- Urban Anganwadis: Implementation of hot meal programs through central kitchens starting 2026.
- Pre-School Education: Introduction of workbooks and development cards to improve early education quality.
- Ladli Laxmi Scheme: Financial support for over 3.4 million girls in scholarships and incentives.
- Mega Anganwadi Construction Plan: 9,000 new centers to be built in three years.
- Hub for Empowerment of Women: Large-scale awareness campaigns on gender, safety, and legal rights.
- Beti Bachao Beti Padhao: Activities to ensure dropout girls complete schooling, receive skill training, self-defense lessons, and driving licenses.

The review highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s leadership in transparent program implementation, innovative approaches, and large-scale welfare delivery. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that maximum benefit, transparency, timely execution, and monitoring through technology will remain the cornerstone of the state’s Women and Child Development initiatives.
