New Delhi: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) under the Ministry of Finance has issued multiple office orders announcing the transfer and posting of several top-ranking officers in the Income Tax Department. The changes take effect immediately and will remain in place until further notice.
As per Office Order No. 105 of 2025, major movements have been made in the cadre of Principal Commissioners and Principal Directors of Income Tax. Notably:
- 1993 batch IRS (IT) officer Meeta Singh, a well-known Principal Director of Income Tax (PDIT), Lucknow, has been transferred.
- 1990 batch IRS (IT) officer Debjyothi Das, Director General of Investigation, Lucknow has also been moved from his current post.
- Senior IRS officer Ajay Atri has been appointed as the new Director General of Investigation, Lucknow, while IRS officer Ramankant Garg has been appointed as the new Principal Director of Income Tax (Investigation), Lucknow, filling key positions in the investigative wing.
