In a significant step towards strengthening India’s semiconductor capabilities, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai officially launched the poster and website for the upcoming ‘Make-in-Silicon: National Symposium on Enabling Indigenous Semiconductor Infrastructure’. The launch event was held at the Chief Minister’s residence office in Raipur, signaling strong state-level support for India’s growing digital ambitions.
National Symposium Scheduled at IIT-Naya Raipur
The symposium, scheduled for November 7–8, 2025, will be hosted at IIT-Naya Raipur and is expected to bring together leading voices from academia, industry, and policy-making. IIT-Naya Raipur Director Prof. Omprakash Vyas informed Mr. Sai that the objective is to chalk out a comprehensive roadmap for building and scaling India’s semiconductor infrastructure through indigenous innovation and collaboration.
Chhattisgarh’s Commitment to the Semiconductor Mission
Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai reiterated Chhattisgarh’s full commitment to contributing to the National Semiconductor Mission, aligning the state’s development strategy with the Government of India’s ‘Semiconductor India Mission’. He emphasized the vital role of youth, industry, and educational institutions in building a robust, self-reliant tech ecosystem.
Mr. Sai remarked, “Semiconductor infrastructure is the backbone of digital India and a driver of economic strength. Chhattisgarh is committed to ensuring our youth are equipped for global competition through such initiatives.”

Highlighting the broader developmental vision, Mr. Sai stated that events like this symposium would not only support domestic innovation but also create a knowledge-driven ecosystem that positions Indian youth as global technology leaders. He stressed the importance of building homegrown capabilities to reduce import dependency and improve technological resilience.

The event is being coordinated by Convener Dr. Manoj Majumdar, along with Dr. Deepika Gupta and other members of the organizing committee. The symposium aims to bridge the gap between policy, academia, and industry through meaningful dialogue, collaborative ideation, and strategic partnerships.
