The tenure of Mallika Srinivasan, Chairperson of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), has been extended for an additional year, the government announced on Saturday. Her extended term will now run from November 19, 2024, to November 18, 2025, surpassing the usual retirement age of 65.
Appointed in April 2021 for a three-year term or until the age of 65, Srinivasan had succeeded Rajeev Kumar, a retired IAS officer from the 1984 batch (Jharkhand cadre). Initially set to retire on November 18, 2024, her tenure was extended just two days before her scheduled departure, reflecting the NaMo administration’s decision to retain her leadership in PESB for another year.
