Kolkata: Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Child Rights and You (CRY) to launch ‘Hockey For Her’, a dedicated initiative aimed at empowering underprivileged adolescent girls in Jharkhand through sports, health, and life-skills development.
MoU to Drive Grassroots Sports Empowerment
The MoU was signed on 9 August 2025 by Rajeev Shrivastava, General Manager (HR&A), GRSE, and Ms. Trina Chakraborty, Regional Director – East, CRY. The agreement marks GRSE’s commitment to using its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform to promote gender equality, physical fitness, and self-confidence among young girls.
Holistic Support for Young Athletes
Under this programme, participating girls will receive structured hockey training under professional coaches, along with access to sports equipment, mentoring, and nutritional food support. Regular medical check-ups will be conducted to ensure their overall health, while life-skills development sessions will prepare them for success both on and off the field.
Fostering Confidence, Discipline, and Opportunity

‘Hockey For Her’ goes beyond sports training, serving as a platform for instilling discipline, teamwork, and resilience. By combining athletic development with health and educational support, GRSE and CRY aim to create pathways for these girls to pursue higher opportunities in sports and life.
