MCL Hosts Consumer Meet–2026 to Enhance Coal Supply Efficiency and Strengthen Stakeholder Engagement

New Delhi/Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) on Tuesday successfully organised Consumer Meet–2026 at its headquarters, under the chairmanship of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Uday Anant Kaole, reaffirming the company’s commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent, and0 technology-driven operational approach.

CMD Highlights Consumer-Centric Philosophy

Addressing stakeholders at the meet, CMD Uday Anant Kaole emphasised that consumers remain central to MCL’s operational philosophy. He highlighted the company’s sustained investments in rail and road infrastructure, First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects, and mechanised systems aimed at ensuring seamless coal evacuation, efficient dispatch, and consistent quality supply. Kaole reiterated that timely coal despatch, quality assurance, and service efficiency are key priorities for MCL to support the energy requirements of its consumers and foster long-term partnerships.

Leadership Participation and Key Discussions

The meet witnessed the presence of MCL’s senior leadership, including Director (HR) Keshav Rao, Director (Finance) AK Behura, Director (Technical) SK Jha, Area General Managers, Heads of Departments, and other senior officials. Discussions during the meet focused on critical aspects of coal supply chain management, mining operations, labour management, and coal delivery mechanisms.

Technological Advancements and Consumer Feedback Initiatives

Departments such as Marketing & Sales and Quality Control showcased recent improvements in operational performance and adoption of advanced technologies, including mechanical augers, automatic mechanical coal samplers, and digital quality monitoring systems. Consumers were also briefed about MCL’s digital Consumer Feedback System, accessible through a QR code, enabling real-time feedback and efficient grievance redressal.

Consumer Appreciation and Collaboration

Senior representatives from major coal consumers, including NTPC, Jindal Power Limited, Adani Group, APGENCO, Hindalco, and Haldia Energy Limited, participated in the meet and shared constructive feedback. They appreciated MCL’s consistent coal quality, timely dispatch, and customer-focused initiatives, expressing confidence in the company’s responsive and collaborative approach.
