The government of Odisha has recently appointed Mr. Y B Khurania as its next Director General of Police & (DGP) Head of Police Force (HoPF). Mr. Khurania, a 1990-batch Odisha cadre officer, was repatriated to his home cadre in the backdrop of speculations that his name was being considered by the Odisha government for appointment as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state. IPS Khurania was last posted as Special DG (West) in BSF.
Officer Khurania had earlier served as the Superintendent of Police of Nayagarh, Jajpur, Rourkela, Mayurbhanj and Ganjam districts. Besides, he also served as Southern Range and Northern Range DIG, Additional Commissioner of Police and Commissioner of Police of Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City, Director, BPSPA-cum-IG Training and Special DG (Operations) at the BSF Headquarters in New Delhi.
