During his visit to Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL)’s Bengaluru Complex, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth reaffirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) by providing necessary support and guidance. Addressing BEL officials, Seth emphasized the imperative for PSUs to enhance their performance and competitiveness in today’s dynamic market environment.
Highlighting BEL’s significant contributions to the Make in India initiative and self-reliance (Aatmanirbharta), Seth lauded the PSU’s achievements in developing indigenous equipment and systems through collaborations with Defence Research & Development Organization (DRDO) and Airports Authority of India (AAI). This year alone, BEL secured patents for 150 innovations, reinforcing its commitment to self-sufficiency.
During his tour, the Minister visited key facilities including the Precision Manufacturing Facility at Advanced Defence Systems Navy (ADSN) Strategic Business Unit, Military Radars SBU, and the advanced EMI / EMC Lab. He received demonstrations on the Coastal Surveillance System and the Perimeter Security System, showcasing BEL’s capabilities in defence technology.
The visit also included stops at the Smart City Experience Centre and the Product Development and Innovation Centre (PDIC), where Seth interacted with engineers, scientists, and researchers engaged in pioneering defence and security projects. The PDIC, known for fostering innovation and research, plays a pivotal role in developing cutting-edge solutions for national defence.
